How to calculate your lead conversion rate
- Pick one period. Use the same month or campaign for every number so the rates compare like with like.
- Enter leads, contacted and deals. Leads received is every enquiry; contacted is how many you actually reached; deals closed is how many bought or booked. Site visits or meetings are optional.
- Add the average deal value. Switch between ₹ and $ at the top. Revenue is deals × average deal value, and revenue per lead is revenue ÷ leads.
- Add your ad spend (optional). You get cost per lead (spend ÷ leads) and cost per deal (spend ÷ deals).
- Try the what-if slider. See how many extra deals and how much extra revenue the same leads would bring if conversion rose by a few percentage points.
- Compare sources. Fill the source table to see which channel converts best and costs least per deal, then download it as CSV.
The formula is Lead conversion rate = Deals closed ÷ Leads received × 100. Contact rate = Leads contacted ÷ Leads received × 100. For example, 12 deals from 200 leads is a 6% conversion rate, and 150 contacted out of 200 is a 75% contact rate.
Dreaming of closing more deals from the same leads?
Most of the gap between leads and deals is leads that never got a call back or a follow-up. KroLead is an Android CRM that keeps every lead, every call and its next follow-up in one app, and Call Pilot helps you on calls with your leads, so fewer enquiries slip away and more of them reach a site visit, a meeting and a closed deal.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate lead conversion rate?
Divide the deals closed by the leads received in the same period and multiply by 100. For example, 12 deals from 200 leads is 12 ÷ 200 × 100 = 6%. Use the same month or campaign for both numbers so the rate is fair.
What is the difference between contact rate, meeting rate and conversion rate?
Contact rate is leads contacted ÷ leads received, so it shows how many enquiries you actually reached. Meeting rate is site visits or meetings ÷ leads contacted. Lead-to-deal conversion is deals ÷ all leads received. Looking at all three shows where leads drop off: not being called, not agreeing to meet, or not buying after the meeting.
What is a good lead conversion rate?
There is no single good number. It depends on your industry, deal size, lead source and how fresh the leads are; a walk-in or referral usually behaves very differently from a cold ad lead. The most useful comparison is with your own past months and between your own sources, which is what the source table on this page is for.
How do I calculate cost per lead and cost per deal?
Cost per lead is ad or marketing spend ÷ leads received, and cost per deal (cost per acquisition) is spend ÷ deals closed. For example, ₹30,000 spent for 200 leads and 12 deals is ₹150 per lead and ₹2,500 per deal.
How does the what-if calculation work?
It adds the percentage points you choose to your current conversion rate and applies the new rate to the same number of leads. At 200 leads and 6% conversion, a 2-point rise to 8% means about 16 deals instead of 12, so 4 extra deals; with a ₹50,000 average deal value that is ₹2,00,000 more revenue from the same leads.
Can I compare Facebook, 99acres, walk-in and referral leads?
Yes. Enter the leads, deals and spend for each source in the comparison table to see each source's conversion rate, cost per lead, cost per deal and estimated revenue. You can rename, add or remove rows, copy the totals into the main calculator and download the table as a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets.
Does this calculator store or upload my numbers?
No. All calculations run in JavaScript in your browser. The numbers you enter and the CSV you download are not sent to KroLead or saved by this page.
